Deshalb mußte eine „richtige“ Lösung her.

Hey mampfi
I also have a CF 5500-2 and applied your mod, all good, but I want to point out something weird in the schematics and functionality of this deck that might affect your measurements accuracy.
So, i noticed that the 120ms switch (playback eq for Fe tape) is effective ONLY in playback; when listening the tape while recording (from Vor / Hinterband) pressing the 120ms switch makes no difference. On the schematics it seems that the 24V A (prolly Aufnahme supply voltage) applied at point F (Wiedergabe schematic) invalidates the aformentioned switch. Under my oppinion, this affects the calibration procedure in a negative way, because as the 120ms correction is not applied at calibration but will be applied at later playback, the highs will be brighter than desired. By unsoldering one terminal of R13119 (Control schematics) i was able to keep the 120ms switch active during listening while recording, but I'm concerned of the accuracy of your measurements (they might be accurate if the 120ms playback eq is NOT pressed). Seemes that Grundig disregarded the Fe tape so much on this model that they took active means to not use them...

Any comments on this are welcome

Thank you for reproducing my Idea.
Grundig decided in 1979 to go her own Way for EQ Tapes in Cassette Machines. When they presented their new models CF 5000; CF 5500; CF 5100 all with Normal Tape functionaltiy, the recording and playback equalisaztion for Normal Tape was 70µs. Absolutly same as the CF 5500-2
The 120µs Button was only for playing back tapes from other machines.
See a cutout from the original user manual from a CF 5500 with normal tape functionality.

With this decision Grundig was in best society with nakamichi. Few models of them can freely choice the eq. So they can eq a normaltape with 70µs too and a chrome/metaltape with 120µs.
The reason for the 70µs recording eq with normaltape is a result in better noise level.

And factual the Cf 5500 is with normaltape only 1db behind the fecr tape.

I consider that too with the 120µs when i did my conversion. My decision was to go with Grundig Standard.

If you use a little logic circuit you can change to eq for normaltape with 120µs in playback mode. So you only have to adjust the recording eq appropriate for flat frequency response.

Mampfi, glad I found someone to enlighten me. Saw the same playback eq switch suppression in CF 5500 also.
One more question: If the recording eq for normal (Fe) tapes is 70ns, wouldn't they sound brighter on other decks? Especially
on the ones that sense the tape type from the notches in the cassette body wich don't have eq switch. I have a Sony TC-K711s and
it sounds way too brighter.
By the way, big Grundig fan here too. Have V5000, CF-5000, CF-5500, T-5000, PS-4500, MA-100, MXV-100, MCF-400, MT-100, MR-200, MCF-600.
Started to recap and restore them one by one, only fine engineering inside them :)

You're right. Strictly speaking.... Grundig is with this special equalisation for standard/normal tape incompatible to "normal" cassette machines.
Because they cooking her own soup. And they did that more than once......

Anyway...the CF 5500 and CF 5500-2 are increadible good machines.
